Turbo Pascal rocked my world!

This digg entry on a new marketing move by Borland has given me a great smile today. The commenters have shared their good times with that well loved IDE.

I first learned Turbo Pascal back in 1988 (or 89? basta 2nd sem na) along with the UP-CPU group in UP-CLC (that’s UP Computer Programmers and Users group, and UP Computer Literacy Center). Spending nights and wee hours on green CRTs.

You can read the PC-Mag article here, and, although the site currently looks like old (I mean, the site looks like it came from early 90s), Borland has created a website for the product line here.

Missing MLQ3’s blog

Humor or hack? – My daily read is closed. I thought he was just installing or upgrading his WordPress, when earlier this morning the title was “quezon”. I checked a couple of minutes ago and it’s changed to “jacobin”, a club-name of the most famous of the political clubs of the French Revolution (accd. to Wikipedia).

jacobin

Update – Ok, Tor was disabled when I went to MLQ3’s blog earlier. Now that I have enabled Tor, the site is back up again. Tor off off, Tor on on. Weird. Is Tor caching pages?

LiveMail now gives 2Gig

I seldom check my MSN LiveMail, I must have missed out on the news that my LiveMail got 2 Gigabytes of storage. I tried rummaging through all the spam in my “Inbox” and “Spam” folders but can’t find any notice from MS about the upgrade. Well what can I say? Thanks?
